G. Willy Davila, MD, has spent his professional career as an academic Urogynecologist; as a clinician, teacher, researcher and thought leader. He is currently Director of Women and Children’s Services at Holy Cross Health and directs the Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Health at the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center.
Dr. Davila received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Gynecological Urology clinical preceptorship at Long Beach Memorial Hospital at the University of California-Irvine.
His clinical experience includes Chairman, Dept. of Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic Florida (1999-2017), Asst. Professor of OBGYN at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (1989-1992) and Director of the Gynecology and Continence Center (1992-1999) in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Davila has given nearly 500 invited professional presentations and has published more than 250 book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has co-authored 6 textbooks including Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: A Multidisciplinary Approach and Practical Guide to Female Pelvic Medicine. Dr. Davila has trained many US and international clinical fellows – many of whom are now in academic positions at leading institutions around the world.
He has held many key roles in Urogynecology and Women’s Health societies:

Chairman of the Board, National Association for Continence (NAFC), the principal patient resource and advocacy entity in the US.

Past-President and recent awardee of the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, International Urogynecological Association (IUGA). The world’s premiere urogynecology professional society.

Chairman, Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Committee, and recent awardee of “FIGO Distinguished Merit Award”, International Federation of OBGYN Societies (FIGO).

Founding member, Foundation for International Urogynecologic Assistance (FIUGA), that has developed Fellowship training programs in areas lacking Urogynecology services such as Ghana and Nepal.

Honorary member of many national Urogynecology and OBGYN societies.
Dr. Davila is most proud of his many surgical contributions to the well-being and quality of life of women with Pelvic Floor problems in our community and around the world.
