Volunteer at Holy Cross Health

The Department of Volunteer Services provides persons who wish to donate their time and actively engage in community service an opportunity to provide support to Holy Cross Health's mission.

The Department of Volunteer Services develops and maintains a team of volunteers to provide support and assistance in serving the needs of our patients and their families.

Volunteer Criteria for Adults and College Students*

• Must be 18 years old 
• Must have a desire to provide comfort and support to patients and their families
• A minimum commitment of 6 months  and 8 hours per week
• Required to complete a background check
• Complete QuantiFERON -TB Gold test (provided onsite at  the Holy Cross outpatient lab at first visit)
• Annual Flu Shot required (provided onsite prior to flu season)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or declination
• A letter of recommendation from a previous employer or volunteer organization

Volunteer Requirements for Teenagers*

• Must be the child of a Holy Cross Colleague or Physician 
• Must be at least 16 years old

*Please note: We do not accept court-appointed hours.

Due to hospital policy, only non-Holy Cross colleagues are permitted to volunteer. We suggest that colleagues interested in volunteering check out Hands on Broward.
