Fort Lauderdale, FL (April 3, 2025) – Holy Cross Health, a member of Trinity Health, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Monice, FACHE, as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 11. Monice, currently president of Loyola Medicine’s MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to advancing health care excellence and equity.
Born and raised in South Florida from a Haitian immigrant family, Monice knows firsthand the needs of Broward County. His career journey began in ministry as a senior pastor, where he developed a deep passion for service, leadership, and community engagement—values that have shaped his approach to health care leadership.
“Coming home to serve the very community that shaped me is the honor of a lifetime,” said Monice. “Holy Cross has a remarkable legacy, and I am inspired by the opportunity to lead its next chapter—one that continues to prioritize clinical excellence, equity and the health of every person we serve, especially the most vulnerable.”
Monice has held key leadership roles in health care, including serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Trinity Health’s Midwest Service Area and Chief Operating Officer at AdventHealth’s Altamonte Campus in Orlando. Throughout his career, he has successfully led operational improvements, expanded service lines, strengthened physician partnerships and enhanced workforce stability. Under his leadership at MacNeal Hospital, colleague turnover decreased by 25%, contributing to a more engaged workforce and improved patient care.
“Pierre is an exceptional, Mission-driven leader whose integrity, compassion and inclusive approach make him uniquely suited to lead Holy Cross Health,” said Robert Casalou, President and CEO of Trinity Health Michigan and Southeast Region. “His career reflects a deep commitment to people and performance, and his return to South Florida is a full-circle moment that will resonate deeply with the community.”
Monice holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Southern Adventist University. He is board-certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Earlier this year, Monice was the recipient of the 2025 Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
“Pierre’s story is one of service, inclusion and relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Rudy Molinet, RN, MPH, FACHE, Chair of the Holy Cross Health Board of Directors. “He understands the pulse of our community and brings both vision and heart to everything he does. We are confident that his leadership will spark new thinking and elevate care within the diverse communities we serve at Holy Cross.”
In his new role, Monice will focus on advancing Holy Cross Health’s ambulatory growth strategy, enhancing patient satisfaction and fostering a strong culture of colleague engagement.
