Fort Lauderdale, Florida (August 16, 2023) – Neurosurgeon Aaron M. Brooking, D.O. has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County.

Dr. Brooking joins the neurologists and rehabilitation specialists at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute and Phil Smith ALS and Movement Disorders Clinic at Holy Cross Health, which provides comprehensive neurological, neurosurgical and spinal care for a variety of conditions. It is the only specialized care for ALS patients in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Previously Dr. Brooking was a neurosurgeon at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Brooking completed his neurological surgery residency and internship at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Consortium in Philadelphia, where he was neurological surgery chief resident for three years. He completed clinical neurosurgical training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Abington-Thomas Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania; and Reading Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania. He completed a Complex Spinal Deformity Enfolded Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.

At Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Brooking earned his medical degree and received the dean’s award for graduating with the highest academic standing and also received the Scholarship of Academic Excellence. He earned the Anatomy Award of Excellence for receiving the highest score in school history on the National Board of Medical Examiners Anatomy Examination and received the United Parcel Service Scholarship of Academic Excellence. He completed his undergraduate studies at Xavier University in Cincinnati.

From 2010 to 2019, Dr. Brooking participated in several research projects and wrote the chapter on atlanto-occipital fractures in Practical Neurosurgery by Jason M. Seibly.

A member of the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Association of Neurologic Surgeons and College of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Brooking is certified by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
