Katherine Gorrell

General Counsel 

Katherine Gorrell serves as general counsel and member of the executive team. She provides legal advice on business strategies and manages all legal matters on behalf of Holy Cross Health.

Her practice includes general corporate healthcare law, physician contracts, managed care issues, employment, regulatory compliance, and quality/patient safety initiatives.

Prior to this role, Ms. Gorrell served as general counsel and compliance officer for AdvancedMD, a private national healthcare IT company. There she built a comprehensive compliance program with a particular focus on HIPAA data privacy and security. She also served as in-house counsel for Intermountain Health Care and Providence Health & Services/Swedish Health System, providing a broad spectrum of legal services.

Ms. Gorrell received her (honors) bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. She earned her JD with honors and health law concentration from the University of Washington School of Law.
