About
Dr. Kubal attended Harvard University as an undergraduate, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, one of the nations most prestigious medical schools, graduating at the top of his class. As a medical student, Dr. Aarup Kubal distinguished himself, receiving the Stephen J. Ryan, MD Prize, awarded to the most promising medical student entering the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Kubal stayed in Baltimore for his residency training, which he completed at the world-renowned Wilmer Eye Institute. During his residency, Dr. Kubal was also awarded the A. Edward Maumenee Research Grant to pursue his research interests in advanced intraocular lens surgery.
He then completed a fellowship at Minnesota Eye Consultants in Minneapolis, MN, one of the most prestigious cornea, glaucoma, and refractive surgery fellowships in the country. There, he learned from some of the most prominent national and world leaders in ophthalmology. In Minnesota, he learned from the true pioneers of laser vision correction, the innovators who helped develop the LASIK procedure, see it through FDA approval, and perform continued research and developments. He also received advanced surgical training on new, minimally invasive techniques for glaucoma surgery and corneal transplantation. He brings a new level of expertise to the greater Miami and Ft. Lauderdale community.
