Dr. Collado recognized that I was upset when he told me he was going to recommend a Statin which I did not want to take and spent more time explaining the benefits. He also ordered a CT heart scan which showed calcium in my arteries, so I understood why he recommended a statin.
The reason why I gave those poor responses is because I never talk to the doctor. He鈥檚 a great doctor. I just was not expected not to get a call back.

He always arrives with his unacknowledged entourage with whom he keeps eye contact. He is cheerful, friendly, yet abrupt. He asked, "How often do you take your blood pressure?" I was thrown off. Why? I have low blood pressure. No explanations. I became tongue tied and stupid. Confused. No coherent words out on my part.. Then, "how often do you go on walks? Walks? Where do 69 years olds, 100 pounds, frail old ladies all by themseves go?? Florida streets? : intimidating to ME. I sat mute, and did not even think to tell him about my exercise bike, of how often I swim in the ocean, or pool at my club. . Next question... My mind is not snappy enough. They left, suddenly. I felt bad. Keeping thin and active, but not athelitc. careful in my diet, but still a failure . I wish I could have told him about my life long and life altering back condition. The audience is intimidating. My son, is an MD, and I get it. He bought me the exercise bike. .

I am a physician myself, I understood the Doctor had an emergency and I waited. What was disrespectful was the lack of listening and addressing my concerns. He has an accent and was talking very fast as if I was a lay person. I had to slow him down. When I asked challenging asking he was not interested in addressing them.
