Home with Outpatient Therapy
- Therapy sessions are three times per week for about 45 minutes.
- Find a facility that contracts with your insurance.
- Schedule your first appointment one to two days after discharge from hospital.
- Arrange for someone to drive you to therapy sessions.
- Once you make your first appointment, call your surgeon's office. Provide them with the outpatient facility name. They will send the surgeon's therapy orders to the facility.
- Know your co-pays for outpatient therapy.
Home with Home Health Care (HHC)
- Therapy sessions are three times per week for about 45 minutes.
- Some surgeons have a nurse come out as well as a therapist.
- Care Management at the hospital will set up the HHC through your insurance company.
- Know your co-pays for home health care. There are separate co-pays for the nurse and therapist.
